Art Focus: Circle Print

I stole this idea from another blog, only it was a while ago so I don't remember who...sorry:-( Anyway, I really loved the results even though we ended up running out of school year before we finished. What we did was dipped styrofome cups in black tempera and then stamped them onto an 18x24 sheet of paper, then painted each section with whatever colors they wanted. Some students chose a color scheme, some mixed all different colors together, and some went totally paint crazy:-)

  3. This lesson saved my day today! I did relief (substitute) teaching today for the first time in a long time. I was prepared for a Year 4 class, but when I got there, things had changed, and I was thrown into Music! I'm not a music teacher, but had seen this activity on Pinterest just yesterday and noted it as a great activity for a sub day.

As I wouldn't trust kids I don't know with paint, and considering I was in a music room, I modified the lesson for primary students. I had them trace the circle shapes I found (bells) in black colored pencil, then gave them liberty to color in as they wished. We didn't finish, but it kept them busy. They listened to music from my iphone while completing the activity.

I would have loved to see how the students would have finished them off! Thank you for sharing!!!

  4. Thanks! I am going to do this tomorrow and have them fill the spaces with primary or secondary colors. A simple intro activity to color theory AND they will think it's fun!
